Consultations with John Tindall

By appointment only

We have 5 private therapy rooms for warmth, relaxation and comfort.

John Tindall uses both acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine to optimise the flow of Qi and promote healing and wellbeing. However, every person is different and therefore, John tailors both the acupuncture session and Chinese Herbal Medicine prescriptions to suit each individuals personal circumstances.

At the initial consultation, John will use a standard symptom questionnaire to establish a diagnosis, in Traditional Chinese Medicine terms. Tongue and pulse diagnosis are also used.

Allow approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes for the initial consultation, which can be conducted in English, Spanish, Chinese or Polish.

Follow-up appointments will take about 45 – 60 minutes.

Consultations with Alice Young

By appointment only

Alice Young also offers acupuncture sessions at the Yuan Clinic.

She is an apprentice of John's, training and working at the clinic since 2018. She has her own practice and delivers full body treatments at the Yuan Centre in the form of 1-1 sessions.

For the initial treatment, Alice will take the client through a consultation to establish a TCM diagnosis and the desired outcome.

The acupuncture treatment will then take approximately 45 minutes, depending on the individual times can vary.

For follow up sessions, the overall treatment time tends to be between 40-70 minutes, depending on each individual.

Alice does not administer Chinese Herbs, but can refer the client to do herbal consultations with John Tindall via Whatsapp.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal Medicine will only be prescribed following a face-to-face consultation with John Tindall.

Herbs are normally made up while the client is having acupuncture.

“The Green Healer” is located inside the Yuan Centre. It is a Chinese herbal medicine specialist dedicated to dispensing approximately 400 herbs in dried and powder form.

These days most people prefer to take herbs in powder form, but the Green Healer also dispenses a wide variety of dried raw herbs. Full instructions on preparation and dosage will be given.

Should my doctor know?

Acupuncture can be used alongside conventional medicine. If you have been prescribed medication you may wish to tell your doctor that you are planning to have acupuncture.

You should always tell your acupuncturist about any medications you may be taking. It is helpful to bring along medical test results and any medications, in their original containers.

Follow-up appointments

Most people feel significant improvement after their first session.

However, some conditions take years to develop and subsequently, it may take a few months to feel the full benefits of the acupuncture and Chinese herbs.

John or Alice will discuss any follow-up appointments with you.
